Fanatics Sportsbook still has not announced when its sportsbook app will be available to all eligible Massachusetts bettors.

PlayMA reached out to a Fanatics spokesperson twice in the past week regarding a timeline for a full launch, but never got a response. Typically, that means there are no new updates the company wants publicly shared at the time. Fanatics launched its beta testing product in Massachusetts on May 25, but that is open only to existing Fanatics apparel customers.

When will Fanatics launch for all Massachusetts bettors?

Initially, Fanatics had hopes to join the Massachusetts sports betting market in May of this year.

That has now come and gone, and an official launch date for its full product has not been announced.

Again, Fanatics did launch its beta testing product in Massachusetts on May 25. It is only available to existing Fanatics customers eligible to bet on sports.

In May, those customers received an invitation with a code to access the beta version of the Fanatics Sportsbook Massachusetts app. In addition, the beta product customers could claim a special welcome bonus of $200 in bonus bets after placing a bet of $5 or more.

It seems likely that Fanatics is on the cusp of making its product available to all Massachusetts bettors, but for now, interested bettors who aren’t existing Fanatics customers will have to wait. They can download the app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store and join a waitlist.

New users will only be able to access the sportsbook to place bets once the company launches. Until then, check out our first look at the app to get an idea of what to expect.

Fanatics Sportsbook is the eighth sportsbook to enter the Massachusetts market. Previous platforms to launch are BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel, Caesars Sportsbook, Barstool Sportsbook, WynnBET and Betr.

Going live with a full product is still very worthwhile for operators even this far after a launch because residents will flock to the new Massachusetts sportsbook promos. However, the challenge will retaining those customers after the initial rush of bonus-seeking customers.

Fanatics new to the sports betting scene

Outside of sports betting, Fanatics is a household name in the sports apparel and merchandise industry. Now, in order to get a leg up in the Massachusetts market, Fanatics is hoping to turn merchandise customers into sports bettors.

It attempted to leverage that merchandise power in Ohio by offering apparel customers a special welcome bonus when they downloaded the Fanatics Sportsbook app. The promo gave users bonus bets equal to the amount of a certain merchandise or apparel purchase on the Fanatics website.

However, Ohio quickly asked Fanatics to pull that offer. In addition, a Fanatics Sportsbook spokesperson told PlayMA that Fanatics will not be offering that merchandise bonus offer in Massachusetts.
