Retail Caesars Sportsbook will open at Raynham Park in Massachusetts

In addition to the Caesars Sportsbook Massachusetts app, Caesars will also open a retail sportsbook in Massachusetts.

Pending approval from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, Caesars will open a retail sportsbook at Raynham Park, the company announced on Monday.

Raynham Park, a simulcast horse betting facility 40 miles south of Boston, is not expected to be ready when MA retail sportsbooks can open at 10 a.m. Jan. 31. However, whenever it does open its retail sportsbook, it will be a Caesars Sportsbook.

“Caesars Sportsbook is the strongest retail sports gaming brand in the industry and we are extremely proud to announce our partnership,” Raynham Park Owner Chris Carney said in a press release. “Our sportsbook will be one of the largest sports gaming destinations not only in Massachusetts, but in the United States. With Caesars’ legendary commitment to quality and integrity, Raynham Park will be a world-class venue that will set a new standard for gaming in Massachusetts.”

Caesars will be one of four sportsbooks with an online and retail presence in the state. BetMGM Massachusetts has its app and MGM Springfield. Barstool Sportsbook has its app and Plainridge Park Casino. And WynnBET has its app and Encore Boston Harbor.

Caesars recently began offering Caesars Racebook in Massachusetts.

Raynham Park hopes to have a permanent, 30,000-square-foot sportsbook location completed by the middle of 2023. Until then, the racetrack plans to open a temporary sportsbook within its simulcast facility.

What’s Next for Raynham Park and Suffolk Downs?

The Caesars Sportsbook at Raynham Park will offer fine dining in addition to a luxurious setting to drink and bet on sports.

“Raynham Park is in an excellent location in southeast Massachusetts and will be one of just a few retail sports betting locations in the Commonwealth,” Caesars Digital President Eric Hession said in a press release. “It’s great to partner with the Carney family, which has a long history in the community and an exciting vision for a tremendous sports entertainment and parimutuel simulcasting facility.”

Massachusetts’ other horse racetrack and simulcast facility, Suffolk Downs, has not yet announced which company will manage its retail sportsbook.

The MGC has not yet reviewed and approved retail MA sports betting license applications from Suffolk Downs and Raynham Park. But the licenses are expected to be rewarded whenever that process takes place. That would give Massachusetts five retail sportsbooks.

For now, only three retail locations will open when MA retail sports betting launches at 10 a.m. Jan. 31:

  • MGM Springfield (BetMGM)
  • Encore Boston Harbor (WynnBET)
  • Plainridge Park Casino (Barstool Sportsbook)
