Ah, to be the first legal bettor at a sportsbook app when your state officially launches sports betting. We applaud you, heroes, for having the quickest gambling fingers in the state of Massachusetts.

In case you missed it, Massachusetts online sports betting launched with six apps on Friday.

So … what were the first bets placed at BetMGM, DraftKings, Caesars Sportsbook and WynnBET?

First BetMGM bet in Massachusetts: Red Sox

One Massachusetts resident is all-in on the Red Sox shocking Major League Baseball this season. This gambler placed a $50 futures bet on Boston winning the 2023 World Series at BetMGM Massachusetts. That comes with +6000 odds. So the payout would be $3,050.

First DraftKings bet in Massachusetts: Celtics, Bruins parlay

The first mobile bet recorded on DraftKings Sportsbook Massachusetts used a $25 bonus bet token on the “Double Ducks Boat” parlay. That’s betting on the Boston Celtics to win the NBA Finals (+300) and the Boston Bruins to win the Stanley Cup (+400). The parlay has +1900 odds, so a $25 bonus bet would yield $475 in winnings.

First Caesars bet in Massachusetts: SWAC Tournament

The fastest online bettor at Caesars Sportsbook Massachusetts must be a fan of low-major college basketball. That gambler placed $15 on Alabama A&M (+130) to beat Texas Southern in the SWAC men’s basketball tournament. The payout would be $34.50.

Caesars also reported what its first parlay was: $1,000 on Alabama and Purdue to both win their men’s basketball games Friday (-149). They did both win, so that bettor won a $1,671.14 payout.

First WynnBET bet in Massachusetts: Purdue vs. Rutgers

Over at WynnBET Massachusetts, the first recorded online bet also involved Purdue men’s basketball. It was a simple $10 spread bet on Purdue to beat Rutgers in the Big Ten Tournament. Purdue won but didn’t cover, so this bettor lost their $10.
