What better way to start legally betting on sports in Massachusetts than getting in on the Super Bowl action?

Retail sportsbooks opened Jan. 31 at Encore Boston Harbor, MGM Springfield, and Plainridge Park Casino. And, with the biggest sports betting event of the year coming on Feb. 12, at least two are offering Super Bowl promotions to get gamblers in the building.

Here’s a breakdown of the Super Bowl promos at Massachusetts sportsbooks.

Encore Boston Harbor

Big Game Giveaway

From Feb. 1 through 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 12, Super Bowl Sunday, guests at Encore Boston Harbor can earn entries to the Big Game Giveaway, featuring prizes including free play, cash, and tickets to a 2023-24 New England Patriots home game.

Here’s how it works:

  • You must be a Wynn Rewards member.
  • All members get one free entry.
  • Members receive one additional entry for every 25 slot points they earn during the promo period.
  • Your entries get multiplied on Feb. 12.
    • Red Tier members get 5x entries
    • Platinum Tier members get 10x entries
    • Black Tier members get 20x entries
  • Members must activate their entries starting at 5 p.m. on Feb. 12.

From 6-7:30 p.m. on Feb. 12, 10 winners will be selected every half hour to win up to $1,000 in free play credits. Then, at 8 p.m., five grand prize winners will be selected. Their prize? Up to $2,500 in cash and two tickets to a Patriots home game next season.

MGM Springfield

Super Bowl Party

MGM Springfield is hosting a Super Bowl party the night of the big game.

From 6:30-8 p.m. at the BetMGM Sportsbook, all guests in attendance will receive a bag of goodies, four beers, and two pizzas — all free of charge.

Plainridge Park Casino

PlayMA made repeated calls to the Barstool Sportsbook at Plainridge Park Casino, as well as the marketing and events department. Nobody answered. The only department that answered was the racing department. The website doesn’t list any Super Bowl-related promotions.

For now, this is all we can report. However, if and when we hear back from PPC, and if there are any Super Bowl promos going on, we’ll list them here.
