Considering MA Sportsbook Bonuses? Here’s My Experience With Each Type

My experience with bonuses coming to Massachusetts sportsbooks, from playma.com

Massachusetts online sports betting apps are set to launch later this week on Friday, March 10 at 10 a.m. With the upcoming mobile launch comes a plethora of welcome promotions to choose from.

All Massachusetts online sportsbooks will offer promos and bonuses for new users. This is a common practice among US sportsbooks, as they want to bring in as many new online gambling users as they can when they launch in a new state.

I live in a state that has already launched online sports betting, and I was able to claim several welcome bonuses.

Here is my experience with the same kinds of offers we’ll see with MA sports betting bonuses.

Sign up for every sportsbook you can

When online sports betting launched in my state, I made sure to download each sportsbook app that was available. Each new user can claim one welcome bonus per platform, so it is advantageous to create accounts with multiple sportsbooks.

Six mobile sportsbooks are set to launch in Massachusetts this Friday: DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, WynnBET and Barstool Sportsbook. All of these platforms will offer Massachusetts bettors welcome bonuses, and some even have pre-launch bonuses available to claim. Because of this, in order to get the most out of MA online sports betting bonus offers, I recommend creating accounts with each sportsbook app.

Having accounts with multiple MA sports betting apps also gives you options when placing your wagers. Shopping around for the best odds is made easier when you already have accounts with each platform.

My favorite welcome bonus was …

In my experience, the welcome offer that we’ll see from DraftKings Sportsbook MA was hard to beat. What made it unique is that there were multiple parts to the offer. This holds true in Massachusetts.

New DraftKings MA users can get $50 in bonus bets, as well as a 20% deposit match up to $1,000. But that’s not all. Once you bet $5 on the mobile app, you’ll get $150 in bonus bets.

DraftKings’ three-part welcome bonus is relatively rare among US sportsbooks, as most betting sites offer just one welcome bonus. In addition, the threshold of placing just a $5 bet in order to receive $150 in bonus bets is among the best welcome offers in online gambling. Comparatively, you have to wager $100 on WynnBET MA to get $100 in bonus bets.

Utilizing pre-launch offers

Only one sportsbook was offering a pre-launch promo in my state. Fortunately for Bay Staters, two different sportsbooks are letting eager sports fans get in on the action early.

FanDuel MA and BetMGM MA are both offering special pre-launch bonuses to new users who create their accounts before March 10. Over at BetMGM, you can get $200 in bonus bets, while you can receive $100 in bonus bets on FanDuel.

I recommend taking advantage of both of these offers. This way, you’ll have some bonus bets to use right off the bat.

Sure, you can’t get the normal sign-up offer at BetMGM on or after March 10 if you claim the pre-launch bonus. But the pre-launch offer is a no deposit bonus, which is the best kind in sports betting. I’d take that over the normal promo of a $1,000 first bet refund.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help

A common complaint among sports bettors is that they did not properly obtain the bonus offer or promo that the sportsbook was running.

I ran into some trouble when claiming welcome bonuses, and reached out to both DraftKings and Caesars for clarification. In my experience, the DraftKings customer service team has extremely fast response times and is very helpful. On the other hand, Caesars had slower response times, but they were still able to help me out.

If you are signing up for a promo and are experiencing issues and have questions, contact support and have them clarify everything for you. It is better to ask and figure it out than to miss out entirely.

The game plan

Once your bonus offer credits are in your sportsbook accounts, it’s time to put them to use. There are many ways to get in on the action, and seemingly endless bets to consider.

Do you swing for the fences with a long-shot parlay? Or do you keep things simple with a spread bet at -110 odds?

This is why it is important to download a number of sportsbook apps. With more promos from more sportsbooks, you have more bonus money to use. In turn, you can do a little bit of everything. When you’re betting on sports, options are never a bad thing.

Have a four-team parlay in mind for NCAA basketball conference tournaments? Try it with some of your bonus cash from FanDuel MA. If it loses, you are no worse for wear. Then with one of your bonus bets from another sportsbook, you can try a simple wager like backing an NHL home underdog at +140 odds, or a NBA point spread bet at -110 odds.

Keep in mind that at most sportsbooks, you only get to keep the winnings from bonus bets, not the stake. Because of this, it may be best to avoid laying a lot of juice with bonus bets. Heavy moneyline favorites at -300 odds will not yield much in return even if the bet wins. It may not be worth it. When working with bonus money, consider looking for something more profitable.

Overall, don’t be afraid to try a little bit of everything. There is something out there for everyone, and utilizing the various bonus offers and promos is a great way to either get started with sports betting, or build up an existing bankroll.
