Leadership and talent runs deep in the Massachusetts Gaming Commission offices.
Crystal Beauchemin, the commission’s business manager of the Sports Wagering Division, was named to a prestigious national list of gaming leaders.
Beauchemin was honored as a member of the “Emerging Leaders of Gaming 40 Under 40.” The Innovation Group and Global Gaming Business created the award. The winners are honored at October’s Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas.
The honoree list is designed to “recognize the next generation of gaming industry leaders.”
Beauchemin wore many hats so far during MGC tenure
The MGC hired Beauchemin in January 2018. She served in various capacities during her nearly six-year stint with the Bay State regulatory body.
First, she was a program coordinator in the workplace, supplier, and development department. Then, she transitioned to a program manager role in the same department. After that, she was named the chief administrative officer to the MGC’s chair and special project manager.
Lastly, she was named to her current position as Business Manager of Sports Wagering in February 2023. It was just a month before online Massachusetts sports betting launched. She is the first person to fill the role.
The New York native gained a wealth of experience in her home state before she joined the MGC.
She was a marketing and media specialist for Saratoga Casino Hotel in Saratoga Springs. She also was a researcher in communication and information services for the New York State Assembly, gaining experience in legislative affairs.
Earlier this week, Beauchemin expressed gratitude for the recognition.
“It’s an honor to join my industry colleagues as one of this year’s recipients for the Emerging Leaders of Gaming … I’m thrilled to represent the regulatory side of the industry among this incredible list of talented leaders!” Beauchemin wrote on Instagram.
Beauchemin is a resident of Arlington, MA, where she serves on the Arlington Human Rights Commission.
