Summer Olympic athletes you can’t wager on in Massachusetts
There are two Massachusetts athletes for which wagering is not available in their home state due to sports betting regulations.
When determining prohibited Olympic bets in Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission decided not to allow wagering on events in which the winner is determined by a judge or panel of judges.
That means Massachusetts bettors cannot place bets on popular sports like:
- Gymnastics
- Diving
- BMX freestyle
- Skateboarding
- Surfing
- Break Dancing
- Trampoline
- Artistic Swimming
- Equestrian Events
So if you’re wagering from Massachusetts, you haven’t been able to place bets on Team USA gymnast Fred Richard, a native of Stoughton, or pommel horse specialist Stephen Nedoroscik, who’s from Worcester.
Commonwealth bettors will also not be able to wager on Ruby Remati, who grew up in Andover, when she goes for gold in artistic swimming next week.
