The Boston Bruins are in the midst of a historic season. Part of the reason for that has been the brilliant play of goaltender Linus Ullmark.
Ullmark is the current frontrunner for the Vezina Trophy, which is awarded annually to the NHL’s best goaltender.

In the Vezina Trophy betting market at BetMGM in all states where it’s live, Ullmark holds the highest ticket percentage at 25.9% and the highest handle at 61.9%. This makes him the biggest liability for BetMGM.
This is particularly noteworthy because the BetMGM app isn’t yet live in Massachusetts. Often, ticket percentage and handle can skew toward players in states where residents can legally place bets on their favorite players via sportsbook apps. For Ullmark to dominate ticket percentage and handle like this shows just how much NHL fans, at large, agree he’s the top goalie.
Ullmark leads the NHL in wins (31), save percentage (.938) and goals against average (1.88). While there is still about a month and half left in the NHL regular season, those numbers have Ullmark on a fast track to the Vezina Trophy.
To make his season even more special, Ullmark scored a goalie goal against the Canucks on Feb. 25. He became just the 10th NHL goalie to score a goal since 2000, and the first to do so since Pekka Rinne in 2020.
A Bruin has won the Vezina Trophy 10 times. Past Boston winners are Tiny Thompson (1929-30, 1932-33, 1935-56, 1937-38), Frank Brimsek (1938-39, 1941-42), Pete Peeters (1982-83), Tim Thomas (2008-09, 2010-11) and Tuukka Rask (2013-14).
