Boston Celtics futures odds for NBA Finals, MVP, and more

After a surprise run to the NBA Finals that ended in heartbreak, the Boston Celtics are proving last season was not a fluke.

Boston spent the offseason in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons due to their former head coach. Apparently, the Celtics just needed to get back on the court because Boston has been the best team in the NBA since the start of the season.

Celtics betting odds were the best of any team to start the NBA season for team accomplishments. Several of their players also had good odds for end-of-season awards. With an NBA-best start to the season, almost all of their odds have improved.

Celtics Team Futures

The Celtics have the best odds of any team in the NBA to win the NBA Finals. The odds are relatively close at most online sportsbooks. For the best value, though, it is +360 at DraftKings Massachusetts for the Celtics to win it all.

The Celtics are the favorite to win the Eastern Conference, too. Best odds can be found at FanDuel Massachusetts, which has +270 odds. Other team futures have little value, as the Celtics are overwhelming favorites to win the Atlantic Division with odds ranging from -417 to -600.

Finally, the only sportsbook currently to have Over/Under win totals is DraftKings, which has the Celtics’ total wins at 58.5 with -110 odds for both the Over and the Under.

That shows just how good the Celtics have been this season. While they were the NBA preseason favorites for all of the team futures mentioned above, their win total was between 53.5 and 54.5 wins. With their win total set even higher now, Boston has had an even better start to the season than expected by Massachusetts sports betting oddsmakers.

Celtics Players and Coach Team Futures

Just as their team odds did, the Celtics players’ and head coach’s odds to win end-of-season awards have improved too.

Celtics star Jayson Tatum has the best odds of any player in the league to win NBA MVP. The best value for Tatum to win MVP is at FanDuel, which has him at +340.

Marcus Smart, one of the NBA’s most frustrating defenders, is in the top 15 of players’ odds for Defensive Player of the Year. The best value is +7000 at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Malcolm Brogdon is third in NBA Sixth Man of the Year odds. The best value can be found at DraftKings and FanDuel, which have +500 odds.

First-year head coach Joe Mazzula has been masterful in his handling of the team and, unsurprisingly, is the favorite to win Coach of the Year. The best value can be found at DraftKings, who have Mazzula +200 to win NBA Coach of the Year.

Celtics Game-By-Game Betting Value

The Celtics have not only been good at winning games. They have also been a good bet to cover the spread. Boston has the fourth-best record in the NBA, regarding covering the spread. Boston is 21-15 against the spread, covering 58.3% of games.

As far as game point totals go, the Celtics are 17-17-2. Their games have gone over 17 times, under 17 times, and pushed twice. As the best team in the NBA, the Celtics are rarely underdogs, whether at home or on the road. Only twice have the Celtics not been favored by the spread. Yet, in those two games, the Celtics covered the spread and won outright.

So, Boston is also a good value moneyline bet in the rare instance they are an underdog.
