The partnership between Patriots legend Rob Gronkowski and FanDuel Sportsbook continues to grow.
The sports betting platform has announced a new FanDuel Faceoff game with Gronkowski dubbed “Gronk Spike Cornhole.”
The game gives users the opportunity to test their cornhole skills as they compete against Gronk throwing bags.
“I am so excited that Gronk Spike Cornhole will be available to FanDuel Faceoff players,” Gronkowksi said in a FanDuel press release announcing the game. “I grew up playing cornhole against family and friends, and I was always the ultimate champion. Good luck to all those playing … for bragging rights or cash!”
How to play Gronk Spike Cornhole
The objective of the game is simple, and quite similar to real cornhole.
To play, users drag their fingers across the screen in order to aim and launch their bags. Points are earned by landing bags on the board, putting bags through the hole or by knocking off one of Gronk’s bags.
Like all FanDuel Faceoff games, users have the option to play for free or with real money.
Two different apps
It’s important to know that FanDuel Sportsbook and FanDuel Faceoff are two different apps.
Users that download and sign up for FanDuel Massachusetts Sportsbook will automatically have an account ready for FanDuel Faceoff when they download the app.
When you download the FanDuel Faceoff app, you will be prompted to sign in to your FanDuel account. Once that is complete, you are ready to play.
It’s important to note that, since the Faceoff app is not a sports betting app, you will not be able to use your Massachusetts sports betting promos to play Gronk Spike Cornhole.
Gronk’s Massachusetts sports betting appeal
Gronkowksi is no stranger to the Massachusetts sports scene. He starred for the New England Patriots from 2010-2018 and was a part of three Super Bowl winning teams for New England. All that came before Massachusetts residents could bet on the Patriots, however.
Now that his playing days are over, Gronk is becoming a sportsbook ambassador with a special appeal to Massachusetts bettors.
Shortly before the state’s first casino began accepting sports bets in January, Gronkowski announced his partnership with FanDuel.
Since then, the former NFL tight end has starred in several FanDuel promotions. Most notably, Gronk was the face of FanDuel’s “Kick of Destiny” for Super Bowl 57.
